Cinequest Kicks Off in San Jose with Films, Innovation, and Celebration,The Cinequest Film and Creativity Festival is officially underway in San Jose, bringing more than 130 films from 30 countries to Silicon Valley. But Cinequest is more than a film festival — it’s also a space where creativity and technology meet, sparking conversations about the future of storytelling. Opening night set the tone with a lively atmosphere that many describe as one big celebration of film. Directors, actors, and producers gathered to share their latest projects, including the film Party USA. For some filmmakers, Cinequest is a place to return and grow. Director Kellen Gibbs, who debuted his first film at the festival in 2023, is back this year with a new project titled The Novel. The festival also gives writers a chance to shine. Todd Robert submitted his work Pink Rabbit and is now waiting to see if it will win the festival’s $8,000 prize for writers. Cinequest runs through March 22 in San Jose and Mountain View, continuing to spotlight filmmakers, writers, and creatives from around the world.
