The Carmel International Film Festival kicked off with a celebration at Mission Bistro, bringing filmmakers, actors, writers and film lovers together on the Monterey Peninsula. This year’s festival features 46 films, including features and shorts, while continuing a film tradition in Carmel that traces its roots back to 1929. News UpNOW spoke with filmmakers and actors, including Eric Roberts and Edward Burns, along with emerging talent and industry professionals about independent filmmaking, artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry, and the opportunities film festivals create for a new generation of storytellers.
