The Office of Cultural Affairs presented last Friday the 12th Cornerstone of the Arts Award to three community leaders in San Jose. To open the night a performance from the Children’s Musical theater For more than 30 years, Kevin Hauge has served as Artistic Director of the Children’s Musical Theater. In recognition of his leadership and dedication, he received the Cornerstone of the Arts Award. Joe Miller was honored with the Luminary Artist Award for his outstanding artistic contributions. The daughter of the late Chris Sparta received in his behalf the Creative Impact Award Each spring, community members submit nominations to the Office of Cultural Affairs. Those nominees are then reviewed by a panel, and the final recommendations are sent to the Arts Commission for selection.
